Chris Jericho Suspended

No awesome jacket for 30 days? THIS IS GOING TO SUCK!

Chris Jericho has been suspended for 30 days denigrating the Brazilian flag at a WWE live event in São Paulo on May 24. Wow, never expected this to happen even from Jericho. So, how did this happen? Well, CM Punk was waving the flag in the ring then Jericho comes out, grabs it, crumbles it and kicks it out of the ring.

Now, I know Jericho is a heel. I mean, heels usually disrespect the audience somehow. Most people might be thinking “It’s WWE’s fault!”. Well, not really. WWE NEVER planned the flag stunt.  After the event, Jericho tweeted this,

“Just for the record I love Brazil and wish we could’ve spent more time here. Beautiful country!”

After the event, WWE apologized to the citizens and government of Brazil for the stunt and has announced the suspension of Jericho.  Jericho might as well go back to Dancing with the Stars until the 30 days are up.

Shawn even humped the flag as well. I don’t even think he apologized for what he did unlike Jericho. That’s why Canada hates him for what he did to their flag. But most likely, that was planned and even if it wasn’t, WWE didn’t find it a huge thing back then. Times have changed and people become even more sensitive to things.

Yea, the key here is that times have changed. Shawn Michael’s stunt was during the attitude era. WWE was pushing boundaries left and right. Now it’s a PG show.

Besides which, Brazil and Canada are two very different countries. You disrespect the flag in American or Canada, you get boos and heat on the heel, plus angry patriots. You do that in countries like Brazil, you find yourself having trouble getting back into Brazil.
